Season's First Snow

The beauty of the first snow now,
To purify the pollution,
The garbage we create
In our living rooms, lives, lakes.
Millions of green trash bags
Line the streets of our lives.
Cars, congestion clogging curling through
Our airways, asthma on the rise.

Suddenly, soft, white snow,
Pure and forgiving,
The deepest blessing.
Gently quieting souls
Boarded up from pain, rain,
Shades are opened,
Even windows.
Children with big eyes watch
The fat falling flakes & hug their parents closer.
